Seminar in Uzbekistan on the topic: "Caretaker services / Energy-saving measures in residential buildings"

From the 17th to the 18th of April 2023, a seminar took place in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, as part of the PROMHOUSE project. The event organized within the "Training of Trainers" (ToT) program, Seminar No. 36, was dedicated to the topic: "Caretaker services / Energy-saving measures in residential buildings."
The seminar was conducted in Russian language with simultaneous translation into German and Russian provided by Ravshan Sultanov and Shokhista Sultanova. Well-known speakers and experts from the real estate sector participated in the event. Larisa Schreckenbach, IWO, Berlin, Germany, and Rahima Ortikova, The Association of the organisations of professionally managing and serving housing funds (UYUSHMA), Tashkent, Uzbekistan served as moderators of the event. 49 people participated in the seminar.
The programme began with welcoming remarks from Azamiddin Kuldashev, Head of the Department for the Coordination of Educational Institutions under the Ministry of Construction, Housing and Communal Services of the Republic of Uzbekistan as well as Rahima Ortikova and Larisa Schreckenbach.

Christian Seip, Head of Property Management of the Housing Cooperative, Trainer EBZ, European educational centre for the housing and real estate industry, Bochum, Germany, presented core competencies and scope of work of a caretaker. Victor Grinevichus, Professor, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Vice-Rector for Research, Techem Endowed Chair for Energy Issues in the Real Estate Industry, EBZ Business School GmbH, Bochum, Germany, shared innovative examples of energy efficiency modernisation in apartment blocks in Germany.
As part of the event, there was also a tour of the Chilanzar and Uchtepa districts of Tashkent, where ongoing projects of residential building modernization and the work of housing management companies were demonstrated.
 
The second day included a roundtable discussion on the topic of "training as a caretaker, connection to practice" Christian Seip, EBZ, Sahiba Mirzakarimova, Director of Almalyk Architectural and Construction College, Almalyk, Uzbekistan, as well as representatives from the Ministry of Construction, Housing and Communal Services of Uzbekistan, discussed educational programmes for caretaker training and the organization of internships in property management companies.
Collaborating with IWO on the project from the very beginning to the educational process, the Association of Professional Managers and Service Providers of the Housing Stock has successfully started the active implementation of qualification improvement programs for residential property managers. Project partners and active members of the association are conducting a series of seminars for professionals in the field of property management, taking into account the provisions of the developed concept for providing qualification improvement services.
