On the 19th of July, 2023, as part of the educational program "Training of Trainers" (ToT), Webinar 38 "Reconstruction of Multi-Apartment Buildings, Tartu's Experience" took place. Martin Kikas, an energy expert and board member of the Tartu Energy Agency (TREA) in Tartu, Estonia, shared an interesting project from his city called "From ‘khrushchyovka’ to ‘smartovka’ (smart)!”

The Eastern Europe Housing Initiative (IWO), Berlin, in collaboration with the European Educational Center for Housing and Real Estate Economics (EBZ), Bochum, organized a webinar from March 13, 2023, to March 23, 2023, as part of the PROMHOUSE project, focusing on the topic of "Digitization in the Real Estate Sector." The webinar, designated as No. 35 in the educational program of the "Training of Trainers" (ToT) project, aimed to shed light on the ongoing digital transformation in the real estate sector and its benefits for property management companies and owners.

The study tour was organised in the framework of the European Union (EU) project "Promoting professional housing management in Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan" (PROMHOUSE) to learn about the experience of housing management - training, professional development, certification of professionals in housing management and maintenance, as well as energy modernisation of the housing stock and the role of housing managers in this process.

The educational trip to Berlin ended on August 23-27, 2022 for representatives of the Ministry of Housing and Communal Services of the Republic of Uzbekistan (MZhKO RUzb.). On the agenda were issues of housing management, education and training of residential property managers - the main topics of the European Union project PROMHOUSE, within which the event took place - as well as the topics of renovation and modernization of multi-apartment residential buildings (MZD). There are 34,513 MZDs in the Republic of Uzbekistan (2019). 89% of all multi-apartment residential buildings in Uzbekistan were put into operation before 1990, while 61% fall on the period 1967-1990.

On August 10, as part of the training program "Training for trainers", a webinar No. 29 "Principles and fundamentals of drawing up the energy concept of multi-storey buildings" was held. An expert on energy saving in buildings, Gulzhan Tleukenova  PhD, the RTW Architectural and Engineering Bureau, Berlin, Germany, presented in its presentation a broad picture of the energy modernization of buildings in Germany.

From June 20 to June 24, 2022, an educational trip was held for housing specialists from Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan to the European Educational Center for Housing and Real Estate Economics (EBC) in Bochum, Germany.
The goal is to improve the qualifications of housing specialists from Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan, to introduce the experience of Germany in the field of: professional training in the field of real estate management, substantiation of ownership of real estate (apartment) in an apartment building (MZD), organization of MZD management, residential real estate management practices ( housing cooperatives, housing management companies), innovative topics relevant to housing management today.

On November 30, within the framework of the European Union (EU) PROMHOUSE project, a conference on affordable housing was held with the participation of the EU Delegation to Kazakhstan.
The conference was organized by the partners of the EC PROMHOUSE project - the Initiative "Housing in Eastern Europe" IVO, Berlin and the Association of Management, Service and Energy Services in the Housing Sector "Shanyrak", Nur-Sultan with the support and active participation of NCE RK "Atameken" ”, PF “Fund for the Development of Parliamentarism” and the Association of Developers of Kazakhstan.

Dialogue on improving the energy efficiency of Uzbekistan's housing stock continues
For the past 3 years, German and Uzbek specialists have been exchanging views on the possibilities of improving the energy efficiency of housing in Uzbekistan. In November 2021, an event was held at which the topic of introducing the training of managers for the modernization of residential buildings in Uzbekistan was considered. In the EU PROMHOUSE project “Professionalization of housing management in Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan”, implemented since 2020, the topic of professionalization of housing management is a key one.
